Look hard enough and you’ll notice that most property experts are partial to a drop of wine. At Ashington Page, we are no different and so when we get the opportunity to spend the day at a local vineyard picking grapes and tasting the produce, you can bet your bottom dollar we’ll be there.
A couple of weeks ago an eager Ashington Page team consisting of Gareth, Tracey, Claire, Nicki, Julia and her husband James volunteered to help with the harvest at Dropmore Vineyard. We spent more than two and a half hours toiling among the vines before settling down to sample some of the produce and have a bite to eat.
Dropmore vineyard was built from scratch in 2008 by John and Feona Peterson after an inspiring holiday in New Zealand. Sadly, John passed away in 2016 and Feona is pushing forward with the help of one of her neighbours, Barry.
We think Feona’s story is inspirational and were delighted to go along and help for the day as she continued the work of her late husband whose passion for his vineyard was clear, having lovingly planted 2500 vines in 2008. We took great pride in being able to help with Feona’s harvest and will be sure to purchase a couple of cases when it becomes available.
You can see some pictures of our day out on our Facebook page.
If you are interested in finding out more about Dropmore Vineyard you can contact Feona and speak to her about her produce and perhaps even arrange a tour.
