We often report on the state of the market, both national and local and of late it hasn’t made great reading. With all the economic uncertainty in the UK at the moment we don’t know how the market is going to perform from one month to the next. What’s more, is the contradicting information reported by the media.
So we thought we’d share some real-life ‘Good News’.
Corporate Social Responsibility Accreditation
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Silver Accreditation.
The CSR Accreditation aims to help businesses identify where they can improve in terms of sustainability and ethics. It helps businesses integrate social, environmental, ethical, human rights and consumer concerns into our business operations and strategy.
From a PR point of view, we think it makes us stand out from the crowd, but more than that; it shows that we care about our community and is a bi-product of all the work our team do for charities in the local area.
The whole Ashington Page team have been actively engaged in ensuring our business met the four pillars of the CSR:
Even in their personal lives the team has made changes with regards to plastics and excess packaging. We continue to reduce our waste and the amount of paper we use and are working towards becoming as paperless as possible.
“Our mindsets and actions have changed at a time when it has never been more important to make a positive difference to local and wider areas and we intend to continue down the path we have started and work towards a gold accreditation next time around!” Gareth Ashington, MD.
Mighty oaks from little acorns grow!
Not only does our obtaining this Silver Accreditation benefit us as a local business, but CSR Trees has planted a tree through the Green Earth Appeal in our honour. The Green Earth Appeal aims to offset the carbon footprint, stop desertification, provide food for underprivileged children and help educate the developing world. We are very proud to be associated with such a wonderful cause.
