By now we’re sure you are aware that as well as being the leading independent estate agent in Beaconsfield and the surrounding areas, we are also extremely passionate about fundraising for charity.
Recently, our very own Sophie Paton took part in the Dorney Half Marathon in aid of The National Autistic Society.
The National Autistic Society provides information, support and important services in order to create a better world for autistic people. They’re work in the changing social attitudes towards those on the autistic spectrum is pioneering and their social change work is helping businesses, politicians and the general public better understand autism.
They offer information and support for autistic people, friends and families, as well as professionals who may deal with those on the spectrum. It is a truly worthy cause and we were delighted when Sophie chose to support them. We have actually helped raised funds for The National Autistic Society in the past by sponsoring the Bluebell Ball last year.
Sophie, whose son Leo, is autistic wanted to raise awareness for Autism and managed to raise £1785 for The National Autistic Society. April is national autism awareness month in the US while in the UK Autism Awareness Week was March 26th – 2nd April. Sophie said:
“With Leo being autistic I wanted to raise awareness of the charity, having learnt so much from them since we got the diagnosis.”
We’re all very proud of Sophie for her great achievement. The Dorney half marathon is a tough one, while it is a nice flat surface, it can be a little dull doing laps of the lake – but she soldiered through and raised some funds for a very worthy cause – well done Sophie!
